The Falcons dropped their eighth game of the season yesterday against the Saints. A late-game comeback effort was stifled in large part to ineffective situational offensive play-calling. The bad times continue for Atlanta, and we’ve got your lowlights and more in Monday’s Falcoholinks.
Falcons - Saints recap
Dirk Koetter clearly learned no lessons from Atlanta’s meeting with New Orleans two weeks ago, as the Falcons again struggled to to move the football — and when they did, they’d settle for three points. Swept by the Saints. 2020 is bad.
With the loss and their 4-8 record, the Atlanta Falcons are on track to tally their worst three-season stretch since 2013-2015. Silver lining? The Falcons have cemented their spot in the top-10 of the 2021 NFL Draft. We have that to look forward to, at least.
Ricardo Allen had a rough game on Sunday, and it would get worse as he left in the third quarter and would not return due to a concussion. We’ll monitor his status as we move through the week.
Defensive end Jacob Tuioti-Mariner would also leave the game with a concussion.
