It’s the final game of the season on Sunday, making this the final regular season edition of Falcoholinks.

Dive in for some notes on the coach and GM search, mock drafts, and a preview of Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay.

Falcons - Bucs on deck

The Falcons close out their 2020 season on the road as they take on the playoff-bound Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs finally cashed in on their perennial offseason spending as they currently sit at 10-5, second in the NFC South and the fifth seed in the NFC.

We all know where the Falcons are so there’s no need to rehash it — but the Falcons should use this opportunity to get some of the younger guys on the roster some playing time.

The Falcons do have a shot the muddy the Bucs’ playoff path should they stumble into a win — an Atlanta victory and a Los Angeles victory over Arizona would push Tampa Bay down to the sixth seed in the NFC.

For what it’s worth, the Falcons enter their final game of the season as six-point underdogs.

MOOOOOCKS

Mock draft season seemingly arrived in October, but with one game left we officially look toward the 2021 NFL Draft. There’s been a lot of chatter of the Atlanta Falcons choosing to snag their quarterback of the future, and that bears out in PFF’s latest mock.

One area that hasn’t been really discussed is the offensive line, and in The Athletic’s latest mock draft the Falcons grab the top tackle in the draft.

Dante Fowler’s season

Interim head coach Raheem Morris didn’t really mince words when reflecting on Dante Fowler’s season, stating plainly that it, “Just wasn’t good enough.”

Fowler took some umbrage with that publicly, taking to his Twitter account to claim that he’s been hurt all season in a since-deleted tweet.

The under-performing defensive end has two years left on his deal.
