The Falcons’ season will come to a merciful end on Sunday. I’m frankly thrilled, because the quicker this team can dive into the off-season and start making some meaningful changes, the better. Their opponent is the playoff bound, Tom Brady-led Buccaneers. Maybe the Falcons can distract Brady with an oversized tub of avocado ice cream. Maybe not.
Let’s take a quick look at what Vegas is saying about Sunday’s matchup.
The Falcons are currently tabbed at 6 point underdogs with the over/under sitting at 50.5. The Falcons opened as 7 point underdogs a week ago, for what that’s worth. It’s possible that Vegas doesn’t think Bruce Arians will actually play his starters for most of the game, notwithstanding the fact that he just said he would.
The Falcons are 7-8 against the spread this season. (They’re 4-3 against the spread on the road.) The Buccaneers are only 8-7 against the spread this season. (And they’re 4-3 against the spread at home.) The Falcons are 2-1 against the spread in their last 3 matchups against the Buccaneers, with the over prevailing in each of those games.
Your thoughts about the current odds, Falcoholics?
