The Falcons blew yet another big lead in Week 15’s divisional matchup with the Buccaneers. It’s truly sad that, as a fanbase, we’ve all simply grown to accept these outcomes. Honestly, it would be a bigger surprise if Atlanta didn’t blow historic leads every single week. The incompetence is the expectation now, and it’s weighing heavily on all of us.
In that light, and with the holiday season in high gear, I decided to take a break from the negativity. This week’s Falcons Film Review will instead focus on something positive. Sure, I could make about fifty videos detailing Dirk Koetter’s ineptitude—and I will get to those at some point, trust me—but we can all use a little light in the darkness even in the midst of a 4-10 season.
Today’s film breakdown focuses on WR Calvin Ridley and his dominant performance against the Buccaneers.
Ridley posted one of the best games of his career against the Bucs, torching the secondary (and poor Sean Murphy-Bunting, in particular) for 10 receptions, 163 yards, and a TD. In the video, I break down 3 exceptional plays and how they illustrate Ridley’s strengths and ability to contribute as a WR1 even with Julio Jones sidelined. The future is very bright for Ridley, who may need to take on the mantle of top WR sooner rather than later.
I hope you enjoy this week’s film review! Please leave your (preferably constructive) comments below and let me know what other types of breakdowns you’d like to see. If you haven’t already, be sure to Like the video and Subscribe to our YouTube channel!
