Whether you welcomed it or not, the moment has arrived. The Falcons are kicking off their matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and we’re along for the ride.
I’m hoping for a good, competitive game rather than a win in this one, both because the season is definitely lost and expecting a win is just going to end with my feelings hurt. Without Julio Jones, this offense is likely to struggle again, and the defense will have their hands full with Tom Brady and company.
Use this as your open thread for the game, however it goes, and go Falcons until the end.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Week 15
When: Sunday, December 20, 1 p.m. EST
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
Channel: FOX
Announcers: Kevin Burkhardt, Daryl Johnston, Pam Oliver
Streaming: FOXSportsGo
Radio: 92.9 The Game
Key Questions: Can the Falcons pull off an upset at home against a good but not invincible Buccaneers team, or at least make this one interesting enough that it’s not a slog to watch? Will the pass rush get home in a way it didn’t last week against the Chargers? Can the Falcons secondary hold a potent Buccaneers passing attack in check? Will the passing game get going for the first time in weeks?
Prediction: The Falcons are probably going to lose this one, and I struggle to see how the can keep it particularly close with the way they’ve been playing recently on offense in particular. I’ll say Buccaneers 27, Falcons 20, because it’s a divisional game and crazy things sometimes happen.
