Week 15 is here, and the Atlanta Falcons have only three games remaining on the schedule. They were officially eliminated from making the playoffs on Sunday with a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. This week, the team will host the Tampa Bay Bucaneers who they will face again in week 17. Key starters such as Julio Jones and Kaleb McGary were absent from Sunday’s contest against the Chargers, and the team will need them back in a tough matchup against a divisional rival this week.

The team released its official practice report for Wednesday, giving us insight into where certain players stand health-wise.

FULL PARTICIPATION

  • N/A

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • WR Calvin Ridley (foot)
  • FB Keith Smith (neck)
  • LB Mykal Walker (shoulder)
  • DE Steven Means (hand)
  • G James Carpenter (groin)
  • DT Marlon Davidson (knee)
  • DE Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (elbow)

NO PARTICIPATION

  • WR Julio Jones (hamstring)
  • CB Darqueze Dennard (quad)
  • S Ricardo Allen (concussion)
  • T Kaleb McGary (personal matter)

Well, there’s a lot to take in with this early-week practice report. Let’s start with some positive news, it appears left guard James Carpenter is trending towards playing again as he was a limited-participant on Wednesday. He has been dealing with a groin injury which has caused him to miss the last two games.

Now to the not-so-good news; the team had four non-participants on Wednesday. Julio Jones continues to deal with a hamstring injury, and at this point with playoffs out of the question, the team might as well shut him down for the rest of the season. It’s been a lingering injury which has allowed him to return to action only to re-aggravate it and miss more time. Kaleb McGary is still being held out of practice as he is dealing with a personal matter. It’s still early in the week, so don’t panic.
