Our ongoing podcast series reviewing the Thomas Dimitroff years for the Falcons continues today with his efforts in the 2014 season. This season featured a team that would go 6-10, leading to the termination of head coach Mike Smith.
To examine this season, I was joined by Kevin Knight, one of our editors and the host of The Falcoholic Live. We talked about the moves made by the GM and why this season was a mix of good and horrific.
Topics included:
- The insane contracts given to Tyson Jackson and Paul Soliai
- The drafting of Jake Matthews and why it was a great pick and continues to be
- The infamous Dezmen Southward draft pick and why even Wisconsin fans were stunned by the move
- Nabbing Devonta Freeman and Ricardo Allen later in the draft and how they are a testament to this relatively good draft class
- So much more
