Falcons injury report: Dante Fowler, Takk McKinley out against Broncos

Practice report for Friday, Nov. 6, and it’s not all good news.

It’s finally Friday as we continue to inch closer to Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. We already know that defensive end Takk McKinley has been ruled out for Sunday, and we continue to monitor other players who are dealing with injuries.

On Friday, the Falcons released their official practice report giving us insight into the current health of the team heading into Sunday’s game,

FULL PARTICIPATION

  • CB Kendall Sheffield (concussion)
  • TE Jaeden Graham (knee)
  • WR Russell Gage (shoulder, knee)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • N/A

NO PARTICIPATION

  • WR Calvin Ridley (foot) QUESTIONABLE
  • DE Takk McKinley (groin) OUT
  • DE Dante Fowler Jr. (hamstring) OUT
  • CB Jordan Miller (oblique) OUT
  • T Kaleb McGary (rest)
  • C Alex Mack (rest)
  • RB Todd Gurley (rest)
  • G James Carpenter (rest)

Well, this practice report isn’t exactly exciting. The team will be without both starting defensive ends Takk McKinley and Dante Fowler Jr., so expect a heavy dose of Charles Harris and Steven Means. Calvin Ridley is something to monitor as he hasn’t practiced all week and is still dealing with a foot injury he sustained during last Thursday’s game. It’s not considered a serious injury, more day-to-day, but there was a realistic chance that he would miss this game entering the week so anything could happen at this point.

On the Broncos side of things, the team has ruled out cornerback A.J. Bouye (concussion) for Sunday’s game. Additionally, Wide receiver Tim Patrick (hamstring), safety Trey Marshall (illness), running back Phillip Lindsay (foot) and tight end Nick Vannett (foot) will also be listed as questionable.

The Falcons still have the horsepower to rush the passer on the interior of the defensive line, but obviously this hurts. We’ll see how it impacts the game on Sunday.
