Happy Thanksgiving, Falcoholics! We hope you’re all enjoying a safe and happy holiday. In today’s Falcoholinks we take a look at Sunday’s upcoming contest against the Raiders and a return on defense. Read on for Falcoholinks for Thanksgiving.
Falcons - Raiders on deck
The Las Vegas (that still feels weird) Raiders head to Atlanta on Sunday, the first meeting of these teams since 2016. The Raiders sit at 6-4 and angling for a playoff spot, while the Falcons are 3-7 and pretty much looking toward 2021 with plenty of changes on the horizon.
To no one’s surprise, the Falcons opened as underdogs at home, and as the Raiders have plenty to play for, this will not be an easy matchup.
In their 7-7 series history, the Falcons do have the bragging rights of holding the Raiders under 100 yards during a shutout in 2008. That’s definitely one of the better memories of the limited times these two teams have met.
Dante Fowler returns
The Falcons were without defensive end Dante Fowler in last week’s contest against the Saints due to him landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he’s poised to return against the Raiders.
Fowler hasn’t provided much in the way of sacks since Atlanta signed him, but they could use all the help they can get on the defensive line.
