The Atlanta Falcons are on the search for a new head coach but they are not the only ones. We are only guessing at what teams may be on the lookout for a new head coach, with the Jets, Chargers, Broncos, Bears, Lions, and Vikings possibly in the mix with the Falcons and the Texans.
The Texans were the first to fire their head coach Bill O’Brien, putting veteran coach Romeo Crennel in as the interim head coach. The big question for Falcons fans is how appealing is the Falcons job? The Texans, most importantly, have one of the league’s most dynamic young quarterbacks. Would a top coach like Eric Bieniemy prefer working with Deshaun Watson for the next decade as opposed to the Falcons who will need a new quarterback sometime in the near to not-so-near future?
Per Ian Rapoport, the Texans may not even be looking at new coaches.
From @NFLGameDay: The #Texans are considering keeping Romeo Crennel on through 2021, a controversial and unconventional discussion that is ruffling some feathers inside the building. But it is being discussed. pic.twitter.com/Ny0Ll1nCBd

If the Texans keep winning, it seems likely they will keep Crennel for at least another year. That means the Falcons could have weaker competition for the top coaching candidates, assuming they do not also keep their interim head coach Raheem Morris. Taking the Texans out of the equation should make the Falcons the top destination, allowing the new coach to try winning with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones while setting up plans for the future.
