As the Atlanta Falcons seem to be getting slightly more healthy this week, they’ll need all the help they can muster. The team is 0-4 and set to take on the Carolina Panthers, their first divisional opponent this season. Throughout the week, the Falcons were missing mainly two players — wide receiver Julio Jones who has been dealing with a re-aggravated hamstring injury and safety Jaylinn Hawkins who suffered a concussion in the week 4 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

On Friday, the Falcons released their practice report giving us insight into where certain players are at health-wise as the team is only days away from their matchup with the Panthers.

Here is the Falcons Friday, Oct. 9 practice report, per the team:

FULL PARTICIPATION

  • TE Jaeden Graham (shoulder)
  • K Younghoe Koo (groin)
  • LB Foye Oluokun (oblique)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • S Keanu Neal (hamstring)
  • WR Calvin Ridley (thigh/knee)
  • S Ricardo Allen (elbow)
  • DT Marlon Davidson (knee)
  • DT Grady Jarrett (hip)
  • DE Takk McKinley (groin)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

  • WR Julio Jones (hamstring) QUESTIONABLE
  • S Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion) OUT
  • RB Todd Gurley (rest)
  • G James Carpenter (rest)

It appears the Falcons will likely get a lot of their key players back this week. Jaylinn Hawkins has already been ruled out and Julio Jones hasn’t practiced all week, but everyone else was at least limited in practice on Friday. Not appearing on the injury report is rookie A.J. Terrell, who has returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list after missing the last two games, he will be good to go this weekend.

Here is the Panthers Friday, Oct. 9 practice report, per the team:

FULL PARTICIPATION

  • CB Donte Jackson (toe)
  • TE Chris Manhertz (ankle)
  • OT Russell Okung (groin)
  • S Juston Burris (ankle)
  • G Dennis Daley (ankle)
  • OT Greg Little (ankle)
  • C Matt Paradis (finger)
  • DT Kawann Short (foot)
  • TE Colin Thompson (hip)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

N/A

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

  • CB Eli Apple (hamstring) OUT

As you can see, the only impactful injury for the Panthers this week is cornerback Eli Apple who will not be playing due to a hamstring injury.

The Falcons are healthier than they’ve been in weeks, and that could make a difference against Carolina. We’ll find out soon enough.
