If you had told me before the season that the Bears and Buccaneers would be 3-1 at this point, I would not have believed you for a second. Yet here we are.
The Tom Brady-led Buccaneers have been better than expecting, even if they’ve certainly almost blown multiple games already this season. They’re in first in the NFC South and look like comfortably the best team in the division, even if I’m still not totally sold on the team. I’m not sure the Saints and Panthers have a legitimate chance to catch up unless they start playing a lot better.
The Bears, meanwhile, are probably trending in the wrong direction. They were a bit fortunate to beat the self-defeating Falcons and lost last week, and the shift from Mitch Trubisky to Nick Foles does not appear to have actually lifted the team in any way. They have a quality enough defense and some interesting pieces on offense, but they probably will lose to the Bucs and probably should.
Watch the game and chat about it here. Go Bears, even if my expectations are low.
