It is no exaggeration to say that the Falcons are kryptonite for the Carolina Panthers. Atlanta’s 32-18 mark against the Panthers is absurdly good, especially for this franchise, and they’ve won 8 of their last 9 games against them. Things may or may not change with Matt Rhule in town, but there are certainly plenty of fun memories from this rivalry.
The question, as it is every Wednesday morning, is what memory is your absolute favorite.
As always, there’s an easy answer for me. Back on October 2, 2016, Julio Jones took a torch to a completely overmatched Carolina secondary, reeling in a preposterous 12 catches for 300 yards on the day. The effort by Carolina was almost unimaginably ugly, as Matt Ryan basically played pitch and catch with Julio all day, culminating in a 75 yard touchdown on #11’s final reception of the game. It was a thrilling, hilarious adventure in excellence, the likes of which we may never see again.
What’s your favorite memory? C’mon, crack a smile, I know you’ve got it in you.
