We knew Damontae Kazee suffered something bad on Monday Night Football. The safety fell to the group and reached low on his leg/ankle area before being carted off. Few players are able to return after taking the cart off the field, and sadly, Kazee will not be back on the field in 2020.
Kazee is a free agent in 2021 but will struggle to be healthy by the start of free agency. He has shown a lot of ability during his time with the Falcons, however, there has been a lot of up and down as he has moved from nickel to safety.
Falcons safety Damontae Kazee suffered a torn Achilles vs. the Packers, per source. Brutal blow to player entering free agency in March after 10 picks from 2018-19.

Kazee highlights a problem the (presumably) new front office and head coach will have to deal with: The Falcons have no safeties who can stay on the field. Both Ricardo Allen and Keanu Neal have struggled with injuries and ineffectiveness both in 2020 and years prior. Kazee will not return to Atlanta without signing a new deal.
We wish Kazee a speedy return to health. If he returns to form, and finds a defensive scheme that can find a creative role for him, Kazee could be a serious playmaker. However, he may be looking at training camp before he is healthy enough to sign. Considering Atlanta’s needs at safety and the lack of cap space, his future in Atlanta appears cloudy.
