The 0-3 Falcons have a tall task ahead of them this evening as they meet the 3-0 Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. We preview the match-up below in Monday’s Falcoholinks.

After Hours

The Falcons take on the Green Bay Packers tonight, and as a result of the rescheduling of the Chiefs - Patriots game, Atlanta’s 2020 primetime debut has been pushed back to 8:50 p.m. EST.

When your team is 0-3 it’s always a fun time to watch them until the late hours of the evening.

Ruled out

The defense is banged up, so it’s no surprise that the Falcons will be shorthanded tonight. Both of their starting safeties are out, as well as defensive end Takkarist McKinley.

Kicker Younghoe Koo is also on the shelf with a groin injury, so new addition Elliott Fry will see his first action in Atlanta.

Offensive playmakers to play

The Falcons’ wide receiving corps was extremely thin coming out of last week’s loss to the Bears, with Julio Jones still nursing a hamstring injury and Russell Gage leaving the game due to a head injury. It was touch-and-go as to what weapons Matt Ryan would have available tonight, but all three of his top wide receivers are likely to suit up.

Offense vs. defense

Can the Falcons’ offense take advantage of Green Bay’s defense tonight? Barring any late change, Atlanta should have its starting wide receivers available against the Packers.

The Gurley signing

Todd Gurley was one of the marquee signings that Atlanta made in the offseason, but has that contract been worth it so far? We took that question to The Internet and the results from ya’ll are similar to Gurley’s season so far: mixed.
