Falcons injury report: Takk McKinley not practicing, ruled out vs. Panthers

Practice report for Wednesday, Oct. 28

The Atlanta Falcons have a short week this week as the now 1-6 Atlanta Falcons prepare to travel to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers for the second time this season. Because of this, the practice schedule this week has been altered. On Monday the team didn’t practice, but released an estimated practice report. On Tuesday the team held practice without pads, more of a walk through.

On Wednesday, the final practice before traveling to Charlotte, the Falcons released their official practice report giving us insight into the current health of the team leading up to Thursday Night Football.

FULL PARTICIPATION

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • WR Russell Gage (knee)
  • C Alex Mack (knee)
  • T Kaleb McGary (elbow)

NO PARTICIPATION

  • DE Takk McKinley (groin)

Although the practice report is similar to what we’ve seen throughout the shortened week, there’s been two major updates on Wednesday’s practice report. Julio Jones was dealing with a hamstring injury and now a hip injury, but he did practice in full and should be good to go tomorrow night. The other update is that Takk McKinley, who didn’t practice on Tuesday, also didn’t practice on Wednesday and has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game with a groin injury. It is worth mentioning that McKinley has been a topic of trade discussions, and with Tuesday’s trade deadline quickly approaching, there’s no reason to play him Thursday and risk him re-injuring his groin.
