Hey Falcoholics, we hope you’re having a great week. The Atlanta Falcons are now 1-5 and are set to host the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The team is dealing with some injuries, and notable players like defensive tackle Marlon Davidson and defensive end John Cominsky are on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list, and won’t appear on the practice report below.
The team released its official practice report for Thursday, giving us insight into where certain players stand health-wise.
FULL PARTICIPATION
- WR Russell Gage (shoulder)
- WR Brandon Powell (elbow)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
- WR Calvin Ridley (elbow)
- CB Kendall Sheffield (foot)
- S Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion)
- WR Julio Jones (hamstring)
NO PARTICIPATION
- DE Takk McKinley (groin)
- DT Deadrin Senat (rest)
- DE Dante Fowler (ankle)
- C Alex Mack (rest)
If you viewed the practice report from Wednesday, there’s some minor changes to player statuses. Powell has been upgraded from a limited participant on Wednesday to now fully participating on Thursday. The big name trending in the right direction is Jones, who was held out of practice on Wednesday as he’s still listed as dealing with a hamstring injury. It didn’t stop him from scoring twice against the Minnesota Vikings last week, and seeing that he’s now limited in practice, I wouldn’t be concerned. I’d estimate that this will be Jones’ weekly practice routine moving forward.
We did get a downgrade on Thursday, as Fowler, who is dealing with an ankle injury, went from limited on Wednesday to now missing practice on Thursday. That’ll be something to monitor with McKinley remaining out of practice. Per usual, Mack and Senat did not participate as they both got a rest day.
