The Atlanta Falcons have released their official injury report for Friday. Any other week, the Friday practice report is the most important as it provides the best outlook on who will likely suit up that weekend for the team. This week however, the Falcons have a Monday Night Football matchup with the currently undefeated Green Bay Packers. So there will be one more practice report on Saturday, but today’s gives us a look at which direction certain players are trending in terms of availability.

Here is the Friday, Oct. 2 practice report, per the team:

FULL PARTICIPATION

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

  • LB Foye Oluokun (hamstring)
  • WR Julio Jones (hamstring)
  • T Kaleb McGary (knee)
  • WR Calvin Ridley (ankle)
  • DE Dante Fowler Jr. (ankle)
  • DT Grady Jarrett (hip)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

  • DT Marlon Davidson (knee)
  • S Ricardo Allen (elbow)
  • K Younghoe Koo (groin)
  • S Keanu Neal (hamstring)
  • DE Takk McKinley (groin)

The defense is obviously taking the biggest hit currently with all the players missing. Having both starting safeties and your best non-Grady Jarrett pass rusher out isn’t ideal. Marlon Davidson is interesting as he was a full participant on Thursday, so that’s something to monitor. It’s expected that Younghoe Koo will be out, barring a miracle.

In terms of good news, Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones were limited in practice. Jones missed last week’s game against the Chicago Bears and Ridley didn’t practice on Thursday. Additionally, Jarrett and Dante Fowler Jr. who didn’t practice on Thursday, both were limited on Friday, so they’re trending in the right direction. Stay tuned to the all-important Saturday practice report that will release on Oct. 3, a day before the team travels to Green Bay.

On the Packers side of things, they’ll be without wide receiver Allen Lazard who is out indefinitely with a core injury. Their best receiving target, Davante Adams, is trending towards playing as he was a limited participant Friday due to a hamstring injury.
