Worrisome news for the Falcons as Calvin Ridley headed to the locker room with a trainer early in the third quarter. Ridley was having another impressive game before leaving the game. There was no clear sign he was injured on the play.
Ridley slowly jogged off the field with a noticeable limp. It is tough to guess what the injury could be, but moving at speed indicates it is not as problematic as, say, leaving on the cart.
Ridley already has an impressive 485 yards for 4 touchdowns at an amazing 16.7 yards per catch. He has shown much more consistency than prior years, finally putting together a breakout season while the Falcons offense has mostly struggled. His loss would be huge as it exposes Atlanta’s scary depth behind Julio Jones and Russell Gage.
The Falcons certainly want him back if they want to keep their commanding 23-0 lead against the 1-4 Vikings.
Update: It’s just cramps but he is questionable to return.
