The Atlanta Falcons may have recently made some changes to their staff, but that doesn’t change the injuries they’ve been dealing with. The most notable injuries to monitor during the week are from wide receiver Julio Jones and safety Jaylinn Hawkins, who both missed the most recent game against the Carolina Panthers, but there’s a long list of names overall.
Wednesday’s practice was the first of the week, and the team released their official practice report, giving us insight into where certain players stand health-wise.
FULL PARTICIPATION
- S Ricardo Allen (elbow)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
- S Keanu Neal (hamstring)
- DE Dante Fowler (ankle)
- TE Hayden Hurst (back)
- WR Russell Gage (shoulder)
- DT Grady Jarrett (back)
- DE Takk McKinley (groin)
- LB Foye Oluokun (knee)
NO PARTICIPATION
- WR Julio Jones (hamstring)
- S Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion)
- DT Deadrin Senat (rest)
If you’ve been following along with the daily practice reports, the injury list seems typical. It is good to see more player practicing even if just on a limited basis. We’ll be monitoring Jones and Hawkins progress throughout the week as both injuries are difficult to predict a timeline for.
Additionally, the team recently place rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson on the reserve/COVID-19 list which won’t pop up on the practice report. It’s expected that Davidson will at least miss this Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. We’d expect to see more Deadrin Senat as a result, assuming he’s good to go.
