Happy Wednesday, Falcoholics! In a perfect world, we’ll look back at this moment in Falcons history and know that it was a necessary stepping stone in pursuit of something amazing. I have no idea if that reality will come to fruition, but wouldn’t it be nice if it did? Regardless, we’ll be here, letting bad 28-3 jokes roll off our shoulders.
Did you know that our links contain essential lavender oil and very few chemical additives? But please keep them out of the reach of small children.
Evan Birchfield highlighted some noteworthy stats in this week’s edition of Statistically Speaking. And Carter Breazeale’s hat tips and head scratchers is definitely worth a read. (Spoiler alert: Isaiah Oliver’s boneheaded coverage of D.J. Moore definitely made the head scratcher cut.)
Rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday, which makes sense, because it’s 2020. Speaking of 2020, Dave Choate tried to address the elephant in the room, to wit: What do the Falcons do with these last 11 games?
Kevin Knight tried to make sense of what the heck the Falcons were doing when they pumped the brakes on their running game Sunday afternoon. And the snap counts from Sunday’s loss were equal parts revealing and disturbing. (Dave broke those down for us. Thanks, Dave!)
Cory Woodroof summarized the current state of the franchise. In short, this is one of the low points in franchise history, and we’re just going to have to deal with it. Todd Gurley had his best game as a Falcon on Sunday, and now he’s up for FedEx Ground Player of the Week. Eric Robinson had 4 takeaways for the Falcons after their embarrassing Week 5 loss.
David Walker, Jeanna Kelley, and Dave discussed the firing of Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff in the latest Falcoholic Podcast. You should go check it out. Immediately!
Go forth, Falcoholics. Conquer the day.
