On the Carolina Panthers drive just seconds before the end of the second quarter, the Atlanta Falcons sustained another injury blow. Cornerback Kendall Sheffield who has been dealing with a foot injury this season headed to the locker room.

Sheffield has been impacted by his foot injury early in 2020, causing him to miss the first three games of the season. Per the team, it appears to be an ankle injury and Sheffield is questionable to return.

Sheffield being questionable to return is a huge blow to the Falcons secondary that has allowed 261 passing yards and two touchdowns through the first two quarters. He had his shaky moments early but had made some plays against the Panthers, and without him this team will only struggle more to slow down a pinpoint passing attack led by Teddy Bridgewater. Blidi Wreh-Wilson will try to take his place and keep things going, but the Falcons need to do more on offense to keep this team in the game today.

Update: Sheffield returned to the game in the third quarter.
