Coming off a primetime loss, the Falcons will try to get their first win of the season against the Carolina Panthers. We’re all tired and dubious at this point after a month of crushing defeats, but if I were Dan Quinn and this Falcons locker room I’d talk about the new opportunity in front of them. Because I’m Dave, I’m going to stick with “hope they win, it would be a nice change of pace,” but I don’t blame anyone if they’re just rooting for the current era of Falcons football to just draw to a close.
The Falcons match up fine here with a healthier roster than they’ve had in weeks, so that alone might be the difference maker against a solid but unspectacular Panthers squad. We’ll find out soon enough, so use this as your open thread and go Falcons!
Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers, Week 5
When: Sunday, October 11, 1 p.m. EST
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
Channel: FOX
Announcers: Chris Myers, Greg Jennings, Brock Huard, Jen Hale
Streaming: FOXSportsGo
Radio: 92.9 The Game
Key Questions: Will the Falcons get back anyone from their laundry list of defensive injuries, making this game easier? Can they break their streak of allowing tight ends and running backs to crush them against a quiet Ian Thomas and Mike Davis? Do we trust this team at all if they climb out a lead at home, which they seem likely to do?
Prediction: You’re not going to catch me picking the Falcons to win again until they do it at least once. Falcons 27 - Panthers 28
