The Falcons revealed their official injury report on Thursday afternoon, giving us a few updates on the team’s health heading into their Week 4 matchup with the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, Atlanta had multiple injuries last week resulting in some big names being missing from the Week 3 Chicago Bears loss.
This week, it seems the Falcons will have some more injury concerns as a new name, Calvin Ridley, has popped up on the list. Meanwhile Julio Jones was a limited participant, so perhaps his status for Monday is trending up.
Here is the Thursday, Oct. 1 practice report, per the team:
FULL PARTICIPATION
- DT Marlon Davidson (knee)
- T Matt Gono (shoulder)
- S Kendall Sheffield (foot)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
- WR Russell Gage (concussion)
- DE Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (elbow)
- LB Foye Oluokun (hamstring)
- WR Julio Jones (hamstring)
- T Kaleb McGary (knee)
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
- S Ricardo Allen (elbow)
- K Younghoe Koo (groin)
- WR Calvin Ridley (ankle)
- DE Dante Fowler Jr. (ankle)
- S Keanu Neal (hamstring)
- DT Grady Jarrett (hip)
- DE Takk McKinley (groin)
As you can see by the report above, just about everyone but the water boy is injured in some way. Both starting safeties not practicing is sure to raise some eyebrows, but it is worth remembering that it’s still early in the week because of the Monday game.
They do have some contingency plans in place in case certain players are absent on Monday. The team signed kicker Elliott Fry to the practice squad on Thursday, with the expectation that he’ll be promoted once Koo is officially ruled out. We’ll know more over the next few days, and stay tuned to the all-important Saturday practice report that will release on Oct. 3.
