It’s been scientifically proven that Falcoholinks increase early morning effectiveness, so dive in for your daily dose of Atlanta Falcons news and notes.

Breakout candidates

One of the silver linings of a losing season is allowing younger players to get in-game reps to test their skills and mettle. Some of the newer faces in Falcons uniforms saw an increase in playing time in the final quarter of the year — so who might be poised for a breakout season in 2020?

Post-2019 roster review: Defensive ends

Atlanta’s defensive ends put together another lackluster year, and as such the Falcons finished in the bottom quarter of the league in sacks. It’s a prime reason why we’re (again) pounding the table for an impact pass rusher in the 2020 NFL Draft. The outlook for next year? It’s ... complicated.

The Vic Beasley Question

On the topic of defensive ends: Vic Beasley is slated to become an unrestricted free agent, and GM Thomas Dimitroff recently commented on whether the Falcons may decide to bring him back.

Not exactly sure.”

Yikes. Beasley played fairly well in the final few games, but he again failed to put together a consistent season. With a cash-strapped team, even considering a new contract feels like a mistake.
