Happy Tuesday, Falcoholics! Let’s take a second to appreciate the Falcons. It’s 2020, after all. It’s a new year; it’s time to be grateful! Sure, we have friends that are chocked full of excitement because their favorite NFL teams are still playing. And sure, it’s entirely possible this idea to run it back in 2020 with essentially the same coaching staff and an untouched front office will backfire in epic fashion. But red and black are some really neat colors, so ... silver lining!
Links: They’re what’s for dinner.
Bye, Vic
It’s time to move on from the Vic Beasley experiment. No one should be fooled by his second half “surge.” Make no mistake, there is going to be an NFL team that finds a way to compensate Vic in 2020. But that team should not, under any circumstances, be the Falcons.
The state of the roster
The Falcoholic himself took a closer look at the state of the tackle position. With the starters locked in and some intriguing guys left on the periphery competing for jobs as reserves, it’s a position group to be optimistic about.
Eric Robinson is in draft mode and he broke down a particularly intriguing edge prospect.
This and that
There was some playoff football yesterday. Unfortunately, the Falcons weren’t included.[insert sad face] The Packers and the 49ers will face off in the NFC Championship Game next weekend, pitting two former Falcons assistants against one another.
The Falcons officially cut both tight end Alex Grady and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman. It might very well be the end of both of their NFL careers.
