Falcons vs. Vikings: Who was the defensive player of the game?

Yeah, I know. Just roll with it.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings Harrison Barden-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons’ first game with Dan Quinn as defensive coordinator saw them give up 28 points. It was not an inspiring performance, but it’s important to keep in mind that guys like Keanu Neal, Ricardo Allen and Deion Jones are playing their first real football in a long time. Some level of rusty play should be expected. That said, cast your vote for the tepid defensive player of the game.

Grady Jarrett

What can you say about this guy at this point? He was a wrecking ball again, constantly getting through the Vikings offensive line. He netted a sack and a tackle for loss, but his disruption was felt all game. This key offseason signing was one of the best moves the team made.

Deion Jones

Deion had several big stops during the game, though many will undoubtedly remember him being trucked by Dalvin Cook. It was good to see him back on the field, and his speed to get to the ball and make big stops was a pleasure to experience.

De’Vondre Campbell

Campbell quietly had a solid afternoon, finishing second on the team with six tackles. On a day where the defense got gashed, he was maybe one of the less offensive guys? Oh god, this is getting to be so hard to write.

Tyeler Davison

Hey, Davison stopped several runs. He gave up some too. He had eight tackles and a tackle for loss, so there’s that. I think he was good, but all of this is subjective now. I don’t know anymore.
