The Julio Jones contract saga looks like it’s about to finally come to an end. A report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero suggests that the Falcons and Jones are finalizing a multi-year extension that will make No. 11 the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. The report was confirmed by Ian Rapoport.

The Falcons and owner Arthur Blank promised that an extension will get done throughout the entire offseason and preseason. When the beginning of Week 1 came along and Jones still hadn’t inked a new deal, there was some speculation that he could possibly sit out this week’s matchup against the Vikings.

New Orleans’ Michael Thomas signed a five-year contract worth around $100 million early in training camp which made him the highest-paid WR. The annual average on Jones’ deal will eclipse that.

The Falcons will now likely head into the season without this dark cloud of contract questions looming over their heads.
