This is the National Football League. These games matter, until they don’t. But with 14 weeks standing between us and the playoffs, every game matters.
No one has been (mathematically) eliminated from the playoffs yet. Falling into a 1-3 hole would certainly feel like a death sentence, especially if the Falcons don’t pull off a win at home against the 1-2 Titans. Look, I’m not saying the Titans are going to roll over and hand the Falcons a win. That just doesn’t happen in the NFL. But this game, at least on paper, shouldn’t leave pundits scratching their heads. The Falcons should win this game.
The Falcons opened as 4.5 point favorites and are currently 4 point favorites. So, for what it’s worth, Vegas thinks the Falcons will win this game too.

Looking ahead, unless the universe continues to smite us, the Falcons should be a .500 football team by the end of the day Sunday. There’s been a lot of justified doom and gloom around here over the last 48 hours. And to be frank, I get it, because it’s been a frustrating few weeks. But a win would do a lot to elevate our collective mood as a fan base, so let’s hope that’s the outcome, eh?
