Falcons vs. Colts: Who was the defensive player of the game?

Again, we’ll pretend we’re voting for the third quarter only. Ugh.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

I’ll be honest: I really just wanted to skip this one. The Falcons defense made Jacoby Brissett look like a future Hall-of-Fame QB in the first half of that game. At one point, he completed so many consecutive passes that I’m pretty sure he set some kind of record. Yet, here we all are, looking at this article and we’re just gonna slog through it.

Some guys played OK, and that’s gonna be the standard for today. Vote for the most “OK” guy on defense from Sunday.

Deion Jones

Debo had a relatively good game, all things considered. He led the team in tackles with seven, and two of those were for a loss. He added a pass deflection for good measure. Even in a disastrous game for the defense, Jones finds ways to stand out and remind us we’re lucky to have him.

Isaiah Oliver

The second-year corner had a very rough game against the Vikings, looked better against the Eagles and improved yet again against the Colts. He was not perfect, but he did deflect two passes on the day. The fact that he’s improving is what we’re going to hang our hat on here. Low bar and all.

Vic Beasley

Hey, Beasley has another sack (OK, like half of one but whatever) and that gives him 1.5 on the season. At this pace, he’ll finish with eight sacks and a five-year, $150 million contract with the Falcons.

Adrian Clayborn

He almost had a sack and generated pressure a couple of times and he has great dreadlocks.

The Clock

Ah, Father Time. You ticked and tocked and ran down the clock and brought that farce of a game to an end. You, sir, are undefeated.
