Falcons DT Grady Jarrett questionable to return with a toe injury

Yep, this is all bad.

Grady Jarrett is probably the Falcons’ most consistent defensive player. So of course, in keeping with the Falcons’ luck today, he’s now injured.

Jarrett left the game in the fourth quarter with a toe injury. He was listed as questionable to return.

Prior to injury, Jarrett contributed one tackle for loss. But regardless of what the stat line says, he’s disruptive most of the time. He’s got the speed and athleticism to make his presence felt up the middle and get opposing quarterbacks off their spot.

So far this season, Jarrett has six tackles, four assists, two sacks, and a forced fumble. He finished last season with 48 tackles and three sacks.

The Falcons were wise to lock Jarrett up with a contract extension in July. He’s fundamentally important to this defense. Hopefully this injury isn’t serious and he won’t miss much time.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
