It’s a Thursday Night Football clash between the Panthers and Buccaneers, two rivals that we kinda hate and feel fairly indifferent toward, respectively. Since they can’t both lose, I’ll be rooting for the Tampa Bay upset, given that Carolina is the vastly superior team on paper and the most likely team to challenge the Falcons (assuming they get the ship shipshape) and Saints (blech).
Tonight’s battle has plenty of intriguing story lines, from Cam Newton’s health and effectiveness to Tampa Bay’s...overall effectiveness. The Buccaneers are a team on the rise, supposedly, with Bruce Arians at the helm, but last Sunday just looked like more of the same for our rivals to the south. Carolina looked pretty good against the Rams and just needs to put everything together to be an effective team, which is not what I was hoping for, myself.
