Last week, I asked you to choose a position group to add wholesale from the Vikings to the Falcons. Your answered varied a bit, but my choice of Minnesota defensive ends seems pretty defensible after they utterly destroyed the Falcons in Week 1.
This week, we’ll try it again, but hopefully the group we choose won’t be responsible for causing a Falcon loss.
As was the case with the Vikings a week ago, there are plenty of good choices here, because the Eagles have one of the NFL’s better rosters.
Some of you are going to say quarterback, and I’m going to move along here because Carson Wentz looks really good but also hasn’t been able to stay healthy yet.
Me? I’d be hard-pressed to pass up on the tackle group. I’m an avowed Jake Matthews fan and Kaleb McGary could be really good, but the Eagles have the legendary Jason Peters, promising rookie Andre Dillard, the very capable Lane Johnson, intriguing prospect Jordan Mailata, and jack-of-all trades Halapoulivaati Vaitai. That’s a group that runs five deep, and even factoring in that Peters is at the end of the road, a Dillard/Johnson starting duo with Mailata as a swing tackle would represent an upgrade on what the Falcons have. I really do believe that.
Honorable mentions to tight end, where the Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert duo would give the Falcons even more weapons than they have now, and defensive tackle, where I’d be loathe to give up the great Grady Jarrett but would get Fletcher Cox, Tim Jernigan, and Malik Jackson for my troubles.
What would you choose?
