Falcons-Jaguars post-game injury report

Fact: Jayson Stanley never puts mustard on his hot dogs

The preseason came to a merciful, long-awaited end this evening. And the Falcons broke their twelve-game preseason losing streak! But alas, there were a couple injury-related items worth discussing.

We learned early this afternoon, well before kickoff, that Ra’Shede Hageman probably didn’t travel with the team, a potential signal that his time in Atlanta is coming to an end.

The game itself was pretty fun to watch. Lots of young guys playing some solid football, and luckily, very few injuries. That’s exactly what you want in a game like this. If guys aren’t making the team, then you want them to get as much on tape as possible without getting injured. And if a guy has a reasonable shot at the 53 man roster, you don’t want to see him go down with an injury at the last minute.

Jayson Stanley injured his shoulder and earned a questionable designation. He was on a roll before the injury.

Stanley had a fantastic training camp and has turned heads as he’s made the conversion from wide receiver to cornerback. This guy has a real shot to make the team, or in the alternative, to at least land on the practice squad.

Qadree Ollison got a little banged up playing fullback and trying to block a defender. He was back in the game quickly, so he’s probably fine. The Falcons are giving various guys an opportunity at fullback, and like they Ollison’s many-sided game. (Just in case you’re wondering why the Falcons felt the need to throw him in at FB tonight.)

That’s all, Falcoholics. Now go, be merry, because the regular season awaits!
