Falcons trivia: Who were the first and only Atlanta quarterbacks to lead the league in passing TDs and yards?

Bright spots in a history of passers who couldn’t quite get there.

Here’s something you may not have realized: For all their success digging up quarterbacks over the years, from Steve Bartkowski to Chris Miller to Chris Chandler to Michael Vick and finally to Matt Ryan, the Falcons have only once managed to lead the league in passing yardage and once managed to lead the league in passing touchdowns. The history of the franchise isn’t studded with Hall of Famers, granted, so this might not be stunning, It was still a little surprising to me.

So a two-part question: Who was the first and only quarterback to lead the league in passing touchdowns (and what was the number, if you know it) and who was the first and quarterback to lead the NFL in passing yardage in a single season? They are not the same guy, if that’s at all helpful to you, and they did not play in the same decade.

Let’s hear your best answers.
