How did new Falcons fare in the Madden 20 rookie rankings?

Check out the Falcons’ rookie ratings!

As the 2019 NFL season approaches, so does the annual release of EA Sports’ Madden video game. On Monday, EA revealed the ratings for each team’s rookie draft class in Madden 20, and as someone who has played every version since Madden NFL 98, I found the ratings surprising.

It seems like they’ve toned down the early high ratings for rookies, as the highest-rated in the league is New York Jets’ DT Quinnen Williams (80 overall). In Madden 19, more than five rookies started the season with a rating 80 overall or better, so expect a more realistic feel in this year’s version. Without further ado, the Atlanta Falcons 2019 rookie draft class ratings:

I think the biggest takeaway from the ratings is the speed. In terms of speed, Falcons rookies rank high in their respective position categories, with Chris Lindstrom being the fastest rookie offensive guard, and Kendall Sheffield and Kaleb McGary tied for second at their respective positions. As veteran Madden players know, these ratings are subject to change as the season begins and rookies make an impact or struggle.

The Madden 20 release date is on Aug. 2nd for the standard edition, with the Superstar edition and the Ultimate Superstar edition releasing on July 30th. You can view the full list of rookie ratings by clicking here.
