Falcons trivia: What’s the best Atlanta season record with a negative point differential?

Can you guess the record and the year? You geniuses, you.

Welcome to a new week, a week that brings us into the very same month that training camp begins. That means, naturally, that it is trivia time.

Today’s question isn’t one that’s likely to be common knowledge for most of you, but it’s a fun one. What is the best record a Falcons team with a negative point differential has ever achieved?

As you may have guessed based on the fact that I’m even bothering to ask the question, there has been at least one occasion in team history where the Falcons managed to post a .500 or better record despite not actually scoring more points than they allowed over the course of a season. It may feel like that happened a lot in this team’s history, given their shaky history of winning, but it has not. Bonus points if you can not just name the year this happened, but also the team’s (lousy) point differential.

As always, the photo is not much of a clue to the answer, I just chose it because I liked it. Happy answering!
