The Falcoholic’s Falcons Fan Spotlight: Jose Miranda

Let’s hear from the fans!

Greetings, Falcoholics, I’m back with another edition of The Falcoholic’s “Fan Spotlight.” This segment highlights Atlanta Falcons fans from around the globe and shares how they became a fan of the team and their thoughts on the franchise.

This week’s Fan Spotlight is on Jose Miranda. Jose is a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan living in Connecticut. He’s 23 years old, a Mexican-American, and works at his local oncology center. When Jose isn’t reading or breathing Falcons news, he enjoys collecting sneakers, watching movies, and playing games with friends. I asked Jose some questions on the state of the franchise and some of his more personal stories as an Atlanta Falcons fan. Let’s get started.

How did you become an Atlanta Falcons fan?

Raised in a Spanish household, I wasn’t introduced to the “other” football until I was in high school. My best friends are Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets fans, so I figured I’d be different and chose the Atlanta Falcons. I instantly became obsessed.

Favorite Atlanta Falcons player of all-time?

Tony Gonzalez is the player I have most adored. His hard work and head down mindset was something I respected and admired. Watching him win a playoff game was the happiest I’ve ever been from a sporting event.

Best Atlanta Falcons Memory?

So many to choose from, but I would have to go with my first ever game at the dome. Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons in 2016. I flew out for a weekend and got tickets a row behind the bench. Being 10-15 feet away from the players still gives me goosebumps to this day.

Thoughts on the Offseason?

It’s been interesting to say the least. While I don’t understand every move (is Vic Beasley really worth it?) I understand that DQ and TD have a plan to make sure this team is equipped to make a Super Bowl run. Our biggest Free Agent additions will hopefully be the resigning of Grady Jarrett and Julio Jones.

2019 Record Prediction/Outlook?

I’m a realist, which is why I fully anticipate the Falcons to hoist the Lombardi trophy in February 2020. I’m kidding, but I really do believe with a solid draft focused on the trenches, a healthy training camp, and the return of our safeties, this team can really make some noise in the playoffs. We just have to get through that grueling five straight divisional games run in November/December.

Where can your fellow Atlanta Falcons fans find you?

You can find me on Twitter @JoseGatsby. If you’d ever like to get some Fortnite/Falcons conversation in on Xbox, my Gamer Tag is MeantToDieALiar. Thank you for reading and RiseUp!

I appreciate Jose for sharing his thoughts on the Falcons and for being the focus of this week’s ‘Fan Spotlight’ article.
