Atlanta’s roaming free safety Ricardo Allen went down against the New Orleans Saints on September 23, marking the end of any hope for the Falcons defense in 2018. The team was hit early and often with injury but the loss of Allen was perhaps felt the most. Achilles tears can be much tougher to rehab from than a torn ACL, putting Allen’s potential 2019 debut in question.
In a rare piece of good news for Falcons fans Allen returned to the practice field, per his Snapchat scooped by RiseUpReader.

It is an important step in the right direction especially this far ahead of training camp. Allen certainly has a lot more rehab and work to get back into football shape. The injury early in the season should give him the chance to potentially practice at camp and in preseason.
Keanu Neal has posted a lot of his rehab videos this offseason. Atlanta’s defense will be significantly improved if they return both their playmaking safeties.
