Calvin Ridley says he will miss the remainder of the 2019 season with injury

The wide receiver says he will return in 2020.

Calvin Ridley left Sunday’s game under unusual circumstances. There was never a clear injury or a time where he looked to be dealing with anything painful. The television report said Ridley left the training tent, fell to his knees, and appeared to be in discomfort.

We received no updates on his injury, other than he was ruled out with an abdominal issue after heading to the locker room.

Per Ridley on Instagram, he is done for the season.

This is a scary injury as we still do not know the extent of what he is dealing with. His health should be his number 1 priority at this time, but he sounds confident he will return in 2020.

The Falcons seemingly confirmed Ridley’s post.

Ridley followed up a forgettable early season by becoming a major target with Mohamed Sanu traded to the New England Patriots. He had 76 yards and one touchdown against the Carolina Panthers before leaving due to injury.

The Falcons are now dangerously thin at wide receiver. Russell Gage should have a major role in the offense moving forward, with Christian Blake and Olamide Zaccheaus moving into the WR3 and WR4 spots. It is a clear downgrade for the team’s offense.
