The week back from Thanksgiving is like a time warp. Is it Thursday? I’m not quite sure. But I do know that the Panthers are heading to town this weekend, and we’ve got that preview and more in today’s edition of Falcoholinks.
Panthers on deck for Week 14
Week 14 of the 2019 NFL season has arrived, and the Falcons are primed to take on the Panthers at home in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Both teams have seen their seasons go awry, with Atlanta sitting at the bottom of the division at 3-9, and Carolina limping along at 5-7.
The Falcons seemed to be turning it around the last time these teams met, defeating the Panthers 29-3 in Week 11. Their winning streak would come to an end the following week against the Bucs.
Since then, the Panthers have parted ways with longtime coach Ron Rivera, while Dan Quinn continues to cling to his job with the Falcons.
Atlanta enters this game as a slight favorite, with Carolina 3 point underdogs on the road. Despite all of their deficiencies, the Carolina Panthers have a litany of impending free agents that would provide a boost to the Falcons next year.
Austin Hooper and Julio Jones good to go?
In his interview with 92.9 The Game Wednesday morning, Dan Quinn indicated that both Austin Hooper and Julio Jones are trending upward and could both hit the field on Sunday — barring any setbacks, of course.
Dan Quinn says on 92.9 The Game fortunate to be back at full strength at tight end and ready to see those guys make plays. So no doubt Austin Hooper (MCL) is set to play Sunday vs. Panthers, as his return to practice on Monday indicated.

Dan Quinn says on 92.9 The Game that with Julio Jones (shoulder), hes planning on being ready to go and chomping at the bit. As long as no setbacks, looks positive. Didn’t say what Jones’ practice status would be today.

The team indicated as much in the official injury report released Wednesday afternoon, with both Austin Hooper and Julio Jones participating in limited fashion.
