Falcons vs. Bucs: Who was the defensive player of the game?

The Falcons get help from a 30 INT quarterback.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons defense somehow held the Bucs to just 22 points on Sunday, though I’m not sure all of that is attributable to what they did per se. Tampa Bay squandered several opportunities to put the game away and allowed Atlanta to stay in this game until the final moments. Let’s take a look at who did stand out for the Falcons defensively.

Ricardo Allen

Rico finished the game with 3 tackles and one of the key interceptions of Winston. He’s been one of our most consistent defenders this year and given the tumult of the season, that’s something to recognize.

Deion Jones

Debo reminded us why so many fans have been excited about him since he was drafted in 2016. He finished the game off with one of his several career pick sixes, this time in overtime to seal the game for the Falcons.

Jameis Winston

I mean, this guy had 2 INTs on the day including a pick six to finish the game. He did more than our defense than most of our defenders did. I hope Tampa keeps him around.

The Bucs kicker

Three missed kicks? Yowza. He could have easily prevented this Tampa loss, but instead he made sure we ended up 7-9 instead. Thanks?
