The Falcons got their final win of the season against a Bucs team missing their two best receivers. It was a weird up and down game which saw Matt Ryan get sacked repeatedly yet again. Somehow, Atlanta pulled out the win in overtime. Here are some of the guys on offense that contributed to that.
Matt Ryan
The franchise QB has not had a great season. He was hit more than any other QB in the league (except for whoever is in Miami) and he was missing two of his favorite targets down the stretch in Mohamed Sanu (traded) and Calvin Ridley (injured). Yet, he still managed to throw for 313 yards and a touchdown in this victory. Let’s hope he gets better protection in 2020.
Julio Jones
You could tell the star receiver was hurting for most of the game, yet he labored on. With 7 catches for 78 yards, Jones finished 6 yards shy of 1400 for the season.
Russell Gage
The second year receiver had one of his best games yet in Atlanta. He pulled in 7 of his 13 targets for 68 yards and several key third down conversions. Gage has quietly become a very viable WR3 in this offense and his growth in year 3 is something to be excited about.
Ty Sambrailo
Fat man touchdown. That’s all.
