Folks, this is our final Falcoholinks of the 2019 regular season. We hope you’ve enjoyed the ride, or at least as much as you can possibly enjoy the ride in a down year like this.
Onward! Always onward.
Jordan Miller gets the suspensionhammer
We haven’t heard much from Jordan Miller, who has mostly played special teams and has only gotten a small handful of special teams snaps. Now we’re hearing from him for all the wrong reasons.
Miller got slapped with a four game suspension for performance enhancing substances. and while we don’t know what exactly he’s been suspended for, it’s going to cost him Week 17 and the first three weeks of the 2020 season. That’s likely to bite into his chances of contributing in the early going next year, and it may necessitate the Falcons signing or drafting another corner, if they weren’t already planning to do so.
Let’s talk Buccaneers
We are, of course, expected to watch one more Falcons game. As we’re getting into it, it’s worth taking a closer look at the matchup, given that there’s draft position jockeying and perhaps Dan Quinn’s job security to think about.
First up, I took a look at some of the worthwhile Buccaneers free agents for the upcoming offseason, assuming the Falcons can carve out the space to sign them. Then Allen Strk broke down the key story lines for the final game of the season. Finally, David Walker did his customary breakdown of the Falcons defense versus the Buccaneers offense, which is not the most favorable matchup for our guys.
Hope you’re ready for this season to end, because that end is coming fast.
