Hey Falcoholics! Our Atlanta Falcons hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars for their final home game in 2019. Just in case you missed the game or you’d just like to read some tweets, Twitter has you covered! Let’s recap the game.
Falcons would receive the ball first, as they have the past seven games.
This is the 7th straight game that the Falcons have received the ball to start the game.
— Evan Birchfield (@EvanBirchfield) December 22, 2019
On the Falcons first drive, Devonta Freeman would record a rushing touchdown. This is the first time the Falcons have scored a touchdown on their first drive since Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals. 7-0.

Easy drive. Freeman takes the toss all the way to the house

The Falcons kicked off to the Jacksonville, and they fumbled it! Falcons ball in scoring range.

The falcons need to keep Keith Smith & Kenyon Barner. Love them
— mattp0p (@p0pp_) December 22, 2019
I think Keith Smith has earned his spot
— DB. EL (@KreativWhim) December 22, 2019
And just like that, Devonta Freeman records his second touchdown of the day, this time via a pass from Matt Ryan. 14-0.
.@DevontaFreeman scores his second TD of the first quarter! #InBrotherhood

Jaguars out here savings Dan Quinn’s job.

Always a good time for a first. Devonta Freeman has 2 first quarter scores for the first time in his career.
— Matthew Berry (@MatthewBerryTMR) December 22, 2019
The Jaguars would punt and Younghoe Koo would miss a 42-yard field goal.

— Aaron Freeman (@falcfans) December 22, 2019
Koo misses his third field goal of the season
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) December 22, 2019
Matt Ryan continues to make history.
Make that 9️⃣ straight 4,000 yard seasons for #MattyIce❄️.
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) December 22, 2019
That is second all-time in NFL History.

More punts by the Jaguars, and the Falcons would enter halftime with a 17-3 lead.
#Falcons Koo with the FG with 10 secs left in the first half. #JAXvsATL
— Lt Dan - UnGrShow (@UnGr_Show) December 22, 2019
17 - 3 with Falcons in the lead.
The Jaguars would punt, and instead of having Younghoe Koo kick a 54-yard field goal, they decided to also punt. A lot of punting going on.

The Jaguars would punt it back, and Matt Ryan would throw his second interception of the day.
Matt Ryan picked.
— Wendy Adams (@wendyradio) December 22, 2019
Julio Jones made some history of his own.
JULIO. JONES.
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) December 22, 2019
The fastest WR to hit 12,000 career yards.

Julio Jones has reached 1,200 receiving yards for the sixth consecutive year.
— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) December 22, 2019
That ties him with Antonio Brown, Torry Holt and Randy Moss for the second-longest streak in NFL history.
Only Jerry Rice (9 straight) had a longer streak. pic.twitter.com/PZaeEOSCXK
Qadree Ollison would step in and finish off a Falcons drive with his 4th career touchdown, extending the Falcons lead to 24-6.
Chris Lindstrom is very good. I think he's a key piece in the offensive turnaround.
— FalconsAreUnstoppableoholic Matt (@FalcoholicMatt) December 22, 2019
Qadree Ollison is a Touchdown Machine (TM)
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) December 22, 2019
Qadree "Touchdown Vulture" Ollison
— Aaron Freeman (@falcfans) December 22, 2019
This is ridiculous, and since I’m tweeting about the 2019 Atlanta Falcons, let me clarify that it is ridiculous in a good way.
— Jeañña (@jeannathomas) December 22, 2019
Blidi Wreh-Wilson gave up a touchdown pass, which then narrowed the lead to 24-12 after a missed 2-point conversion.
That was a weird play by Blidi Wreh-Wilson. He had great position, was on top of the receiver and then seemed to just kind of give up. Maybe he thought the ball was well overthrown?
— William McFadden (@willmcfadden) December 22, 2019
The Jaguars would move downfield but ultimately fail thanks to a Jack Crawford sack and failed fourth down attempt.
YOU LOVE TO SEE IT pic.twitter.com/dUS2tWZnXd
— Evan Birchfield (@EvanBirchfield) December 22, 2019
Belated credit to Cominsky and Crawford on the third down sack
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) December 22, 2019
And with that, the Atlanta Falcons win 24-12.
That's a W! pic.twitter.com/i1abrKgbGM
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) December 22, 2019
Game. Over.
— Aaron Freeman (@falcfans) December 22, 2019
Kneeling it out and that's that. Falcons just keep winning, and we'll soon find out how much that means to Arthur Blank
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) December 22, 2019
Well that does it, folks. The Falcons are now 5-2 since the Week 9 Bye, and 6-9 overall in 2019. Next week will be the final game of the season, and will be played at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
