Falcons vs. 49ers: Who was the offensive player of the game?

Julio Jones eats 49ers defenders for breakfast.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons stunned the NFL by going on the road and beating the best team in the NFC: The San Francisco 49ers. They did it through timely defensive stops and some key offensive performances. Let’s take a look at some of those below.

Julio Jones

Julio is a cheat code in real life. The star receiver broke his touchdown-less streak in this game, but more than that, he reminded the entire NFL that he’s still the absolute best at his position. With 13 catches for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns, the 49ers had no answer for the future Hall of Famer

Matt Ryan

When his protection was good, Ryan was on the money. He added yet another fourth quarter comeback to his impressive resume as well. He finished 25 of 39 for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. He spread the ball around when he wasn’t targeting Julio and he was efficient against a very good 49ers defense.

The offensive line

They weren’t perfect, but against a vicious 49ers defensive front this unit played well. Ryan was only sacked once on the day and these guys got out in front on several run plays throughout the game. We still need to see them perform more consistently, but they had a good day on the road overall.

The 49ers secondary

Seriously - how can you let Julio run free like that?
