What message should the Falcons deliver to Kyle Shanahan on Sunday?

The Falcons will meet up with an old friend this weekend.

The Falcons will see some familiar faces when they take on the 49ers in San Francisco on Sunday. Chief among them will be Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan.

As you all surely remember, Shanahan was the Falcons’ offensive coordinator in 2015 and 2016. He was the architect of the high-powered offense that took the Falcons to the Super Bowl and earned Matt Ryan an MVP award in 2016.

He was also the guy who decided to ignore situational cues suggesting that the Falcons should run the ball and remain in field goal range. Instead, a disastrous series ended up pushing the Falcons out of field goal range, and a perfect storm of execution by the Patriots led to ... you know what? We don’t need to rehash this, actually. We all know what happened.

We went to Falcons Twitter to find out what message fans would like the team to deliver to Shanahan on Sunday, and we got some great responses. You can see the best ones shared this evening on Jeanna’s Mailbag on Thursday Night Kickoff on FOX 5 Atlanta. The show airs at 7 p.m. ET, and you can watch it on FOX 5 or stream it on the FOX 5 website.

I will share one response with you, as my esteemed colleague David Walker submitted his after we shot the segment, so it couldn’t be included.
