The Falcons are scheduled to play a football game against a tough opponent in a few days. The Kyle Shanahan-led 49ers may be the best opponent the Falcons face all year. That said, there’s a good chance the Falcons get blown out. But I’m not telling any of you something you don’t already know, am I?

Want to know how the Falcoholic staff felt about Sunday’s win? Then you’d better check our reactions. You should also check out this week’s podcast, which had a decidedly celebratory tone. Meanwhile, this week’s edition of “hat tips and head scratchers” contains many more hat tips than head scratchers, which is always nice. And while we’re discussing accolades, can we pause for a moment and recognize the contributions of our deep, talented wide receiver corps?
The Falcons placed Calvin Ridley and Desmond Trufant on IR yesterday, which resulted in a flurry of roster moves, affecting both the 53-man roster and the practice squad. Ridley and Trufant landing on IR will have a trickle down effect; in particular, it will get guys on the back end of the wide receiver and cornerback depth chart substantial additional snaps over the last 3 games of the year.
The Patriots are dealing with yet another cheating scandal, which begs important questions about their past (e.g., a miraculous Super Bowl comeback). And last but not least, don’t get too attached to the idea that Dan Quinn won’t be the head coach of the Falcons in 2020.
