Falcons head coach Dan Quinn would probably be completely secure in his job if Atlanta was able to face the Carolina Panthers every week. He’s only lost to them twice in his 5 years as head coach and the game on Sunday was no exception. The Ron Rivera-less team got spanked yet again, with the Falcons demonstrating dominance in all three phases of the game.
We’re back with our postgame podcast to talk about that drubbing. Some of the topics include:
- Matt Ryan eclipsing the 50,000 career yardage mark and why that kind of record still matters
- The first NFL catch for Olamide Zaccheaus going for 93 yards (Ryan’s longest ever TD pass) and the touchdown
- Calvin Ridley owns the Panthers
- The improved play of the offensive line, and why Matt Gono playing well is a damning indictment of the coaching staff
- The superb play of the defensive line, including Takk McKinley and Vic Beasley, who both had 2 sacks on the day
- Damontae Kazee being an interception machine against Kyle Allen
