Giants - Cowboys Monday Night Football open thread

It’s a battle of a rising Cowboys team and a....Giants team.

It’s Monday Night Football! It wasn’t last night, headlines here aside, but the game was certainly more compelling than this one is likely to be.

The Cowboys are, if not one of the best teams in the NFL, a capable one across the board. They are 4-3 but have a terrific young quarterback, one of the league’s most hyped running backs, and compelling receiving options to go with a retooled defense. They are the favorites to win the NFC East mostly because the NFC East is a nightmare, but they are a good football team.

I’m not sure the same can be said about the Giants, either now or in the immediate future. Daniel Jones has shown some promise, Saquon Barkley is terrific when he’s healthy, and there are quality pieces dotting the roster. There’s just not enough talent, at the end of the day, and Dave Gettleman’s management of this roster does not inspire confidence that there will be at any point in the near future. Divisional matchups can go any number of ways, but the Cowboys should win this one going away.
